Since most of the molecules are smaller than 2.10-8 cm,techniques such as NMR are needed to illuminate their structures.. In the FT-NMR technique, we can detect the structure of a molecule as if we were watching it under a microscope. If this method is combined with results from other spectroscopic methods, the structure of a molecule can be determined with certainty. It is almost impossible to predict the clear structure of the compound without NMR.
