It simultaneously measures the mass change (TGA) of organic or inorganic samples and the temperature difference (DTA) between reference and sample, depending on increasing temperature or time.

With the TGA/DTA device, applications such as transformation, evaporation, sublimation, decomposition, decarbonation, dehydrosilation, dehydration, combustion products of organic materials, coal, oil and fuels, oxidation of metals, reduction, sinterization, corrosion, degradation of polymers can be performed.

With TGA, the resistance of chemical and natural fiber-based textile materials (fiber, yarn, fabric) to heat and flame can be tested for quality control purposes.

DTA determines melting, boiling and disintegration points with high accuracy. It also gives information about crystallization and phase changes.
